Estany de Filià
Estany de Filià is a glacial lake located in the province of Lleida and autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. The road to the lake ends at 2.050m (6,725ft) above the sea level.
The road to the summit, located within the Vall Fosca valley, is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy at times. It’s called Camí de Filià. The road is usually impassable from October to June (weather permitting). Several river crossings. Near the summit there’s a mountain refuge called Cabana del Pastor.
4x4 vehicle recommended. Expect a trail pretty steep with 21 hairpin turns. Starting from L-503 at 1.308m, the ascent is 8.8 km long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 742 meters. The average gradient is 8.43%.
