Puig Neulós

The road to the summit, located in the Albera Range, an eastern prolongation of the Pyrenees, is asphalted but pretty narrow on the French side. The road encompasses miles of stunning views through twisty hair pin corners, high elevations and steep grades. Only 10km from the Mediterranean, there is rarely any snow. The road's winding design, providing stunning panoramic views, is very curvy and fun for a leisurely ride. It’s an easy drive through a veritable arboreteum of varied species of Pyrenean trees.
The road to the summit is very steep. Starting from D71 road, at 565m above the sea level, the ascent is 6.5 km long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 686 meters. The average gradient is 10.55%. There are some antennas on the summit. The journey offers an exhilarating driving experience, with superb views. An incredible journey, an unforgettable experience. This is definitely one road trip that you want to record with lots of photographs. The views from the top are stupendous. The Mediterranean spread out below you, the towns and villages scattered across the plain, one side France, the other Spain.
