Where is Biadós Refuge?

The refuge, built in 1952, is located in the comarca of Ribagorza, in the autonomous community of Aragon, in the northern part of the country, within the Valle de Chistau.

Is the road to Biadós Refuge unpaved?

The road to the refuge is totally unpaved. It runs along the Cinqueta river. Car access to the parking area near the refuge is via an unpaved forest track. During the summer, the road is accessible to any standard vehicle, provided you drive with caution. There are narrow sections where passing another car is impossible, meaning you may need to reverse several meters if you encounter oncoming traffic. Outside of the summer season, a 4x4 vehicle is recommended due to the deteriorating road conditions and potential snow accumulations.

Starting from the paved A-2609 Road, near San Juan de Plan, the road to the refuge is 10.2 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 509 m and the average gradient is 4.99%.

Is the road to Biadós Refuge open year-round?

Set high in the heart of the Pyrenees, within the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park, the road is not plowed in winters.
