Valdezcaray

Valdezcaray is a ski resort at an elevation of 1.553m (5,095ft) above the sea level, located in the southwest La Rioja, an autonomous region of northern Spain. The maximum slope is 14 %.

The road to the summit, located on the slopes of Monte San Lorenzo in the Sierra de la Demanda mountain range, is paved. It’s called LR-416. The road is in good condition throughout. The scenery is pleasant throughout the climb.

The Estación de Valdezcaray has been climbed by the Spanish Vuelta bicycle race. It is a long climb. Starting from Ezcaray, the ascent is 13.51 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 703 meters. The average percentage is 5.2 % but the maximum slope is 14 %.
