The road to the summit is totally unpaved. It's a service road for the chairlifts. A 4x4 vehicle is required, though the road is closed to private vehicles.

Starting from Valdezcaray mountain resort, the road to the summit is 4.4 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 563 m and the average gradient is 12.79%.

Is the road to Monte San Lorenzo open year-round?

Set high in the Sierra de la Demanda mountain range, the road is total blocked by snowfalls in winters.
