The pass is located in the autonomous community of Aragon, in the northern part of the country, within the Gistau valley. It’s the usual starting point to climb Punta Suelza.

Starting from the small town of Serveto, the road to the summit is 10.6 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 801 m and the average gradient is 7.55%. Beyond the pass, the road leads to a mountain cabin known as Cabaña Pleta Pardinas.
