Boi-Taüll is a wild paved road in the Pyrenees

Boi-Taüll is a ski resort at an elevation of 2.055m (6,742ft) above the sea level, located in the heart of the Pyrenees, in the province of Lleida and autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain.

Nestled in a setting of exceptional natural and cultural richness deep in the Vall de Boí of the Catalonian Pyrenees mountains, the road to the summit is called L-501. It’s asphalted but with some steep sections (up to 10.7%). The road is well tarred, with 14 hairpin turns and driving is not difficult.

Located within the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici Natural Park, the road is open to traffic throughout the year, but may be closed for short periods in winter when the weather is bad. On days of storms, on the final stretches, it is necessary to use chains. Starting from the crossroad of L 500 - L 501 roads, the ascent is 14.2 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 780 meters. The average percentage is 5.5 %.
