A scenic road to Port-Ainé, in the Pyrenees

Port-Ainé is a ski resort at an elevation of 1.967m (6,453ft) above the sea level, located in the province of Lleida and autonomous community of Catalonia, in northern Spain.

Located in the heart of the Pyrenees, the road to the summit is paved and includes some steep sections (up to 10.7%). It’s narrow in parts. The climb itself is very quiet, with little traffic throughout.

The road is usually open all year but short term closures are possible from December to April. Starting from Rialp (on the C-13 road), the ascent is 18.9 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 1.199 meters. The average percentage is 6.3 %. The maximum gradient is 10.7%.
