A steep paved road to Alto de Lubián

Alto de Lubián is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 1.681m (5,515ft) above the sea level, located in the province of Zamora, Castile and León, in northern Spain.

The winding road to the summit is paved but narrow, with a few hairpin turns and steep (with some sections up to 13.3%). It’s called Camino del Cañizo. At the summit there’s a wind farm.

The peak has been climbed by the Vuelta a Castilla y León race. Starting from ZA-106 Road, the ascent is 10.3 km long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 671 meters. The average gradient is 6.51%.
