Driving the hairpinned Road T-704 in Prades

T-704 is a paved mountain road located in the province of Tarragona, southern Catalonia in Spain. The road features more than 30 hairpin turns and has been used in the WRC Rally Catalunya.

Located within the Muntanyes de Prades mountain range, the road is 29.1km (18 miles) long. It runs from Reus, the capital of Baix Camp, in the province of Tarragona (at 170m above the sea level) to Prades, (at 943m above the sea level), a municipality in the comarca of Baix Camp. It is a high altitude town, very cold in the winter, but popular as a tourist spot in the summer. This narrow road includes the famous “Pujada a La Mussara” a short climbing up section.

Access to the road is typically open all year round, with the occasional closure in winters due to dangerous weather conditions. The most iconic part of the road is a short section of 2.2km with 14 hairpin turns. It climbs up from 680m to 817m above the sea level. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 137 meters. The average percentage is 6.2 %.
