Silla de la Yegua is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.135m (7,004ft) above the sea level, located in the Province of León in the autonomous region of Castile and León, Spain.
Located within the Montes Aquilanos, a mountain range within Montes de León, located to the south-southeast of the region of El Bierzo, the road to reach the summit is a gravel dirt track. It's one of the highest mountain roads of Spain. This trail passes through remote areas, so you need to be prepared. The short dead end road to reach the summit, with a length of 3,4 km, starts in the junction with CV229-7.
4 wheeling is an inherently dangerous activity and shouldn’t be attempted without the appropriate training and equipment. So, understand your vehicles 4 wheel drive system and know how to use it; make sure you know your cars dimensions and lowest point of clearance – you don’t want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere; at all times, make sure you travel with at least one passenger and one other vehicle. This road is usually open all year, but it can be closed anytime when the access is not cleared of snow.
