Driving the wild road to Llano de las Ovejas

Llano de las Ovejas is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.961m (6,433ft) above the sea level, located in the province of León, in the northwestern part of the autonomous community of Castile and León, in northern Spain.

Located within the Montes de Leon mountain range, the road to the summit is paved but cracked and bumpy in places. It’s called LE-CV-192/21 road. Open to traffic throughout the year, may be closed for short periods in winter when the weather is bad.

The pass is 51.4 km long, running north-south from Ponferrada to Truchas. There is very little traffic on the climb.
