Alto da Groba is a mountain pass at an elevation of 632m (2,073ft), located in the autonomous community of Galicia, in Spain.

Where is Alto da Groba?

The pass, also known as Alto de Mougás, is located in the province of Pontevedra, in the northwestern part of the country.

Is the road through Alto da Groba paved?

The road through the pass is fully paved. It’s called EP-2202. It’s a very challenging drive due to its steep ramps, but extremely beautiful, with unbelievable views of the sea, Baiona, and Vigo Bay.

How long is Alto da Groba?

Tucked away in the Serra da Groba mountain range, the road is 22km (14 miles) long, running north-south from Baiona (a tourist town with a medieval historical center situated by the outlet of Vigo Bay) to Loureza.

How steep is the climb to Alto da Groba?

The climb is extremely defiant and hits a 15% maximum gradient through some of the ramps. It’s 11.3km long with an average gradient of 5.4%. It has been featured in the Spanish Vuelta race.
