How To Travel The Dunas de Corralejo Road

Located on the northeast coast of Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands of Spain, FV-1A is the name of a stunning road through Dunas de Corralejo, a massive expanse of golden sand dunes near sprawling beaches.

Dunas de Corralejo Road

Tucked away in the Corralejo Natural Park, the road is totally paved. It’s 18.1 km (11.24 miles) long, running south-north from FV-1 Road to Corralejo. The road offers stunning views featuring expansive stretches of sand dunes and pristine beaches. Driving on the dunes is strictly forbidden.

The road was built in 1975. It has been used as a backdrop for Hollywood’s blockbuster Wonder Woman 1984. The entire route makes you feel immersed in a desert landscape.

With sand dunes to both sides, to drive the road without stopping will take most people between 20 and 25 minutes. There are many free parking spots next to road. The road slices through massive, never ending white sand dunes situated next to the coastline.
