Coll de Port

Driving the stunning C-462 road to Coll de Port

Coll de Port is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.671m (5,482ft) above the sea level, located in the comarca of the Solsonès in the Province of Lleida, Catalonia, in north-eastern Spain.

Set high on the southern side of the Pyrenean range of Serra del Cadí, within the Lord valley, the stunning road to the summit is totally paved. It’s called C-462. It’s said to be one of the most beautiful drives in northern Catalonia. At the summit there’s a bar restaurant.

The road is very lonely. The pass road is 27.3km (16.96 miles) long, running south-north from Sant Llorenç de Morunys to Tuixent. Access to the pass is typically open all year round, with the occasional closure in winters due to dangerous weather conditions. The road is pretty steep, hitting a 12% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps.
