
The inhumane climb to Escart with 21% ramps
Escart is a mountain town at an elevation of 1.188m (3,897ft) above the sea level, located in the comarca of the Pallars Sobirà, in the province of Lleida and autonomous community of Catalonia, in northern Spain.
The road to the town is totally paved but very narrow, so proceed cautiously and hope no other vehicles come from the other direction. Not recommended if you don't know how to reverse. The road is very steep, hitting a 20.6% of gradient through some of the ramps.
Starting from Escaló, the ascent is 3.3 km (2.05 miles). Over this distance, the elevation gain is 320 meters. The average gradient is 9.69%.
