Travel guide to the top of Venta del Chaleco
Venta del Chaleco is a mountain pass at an elevation of 1.323m (4,340ft) above the sea level, located in the province of Granada, in the eastern part of the autonomous community of Andalusia, in southern Spain.
Tucked away in the Sierra Contraviesa range, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Sierra Nevada, the road to the summit is totally paved with many switchbacks. It’s called GR-6202.
The road features stunning landscapes. Starting from the Embalse (reservoir) de Benina, the drive is 22,60 km long. Over this distance the average gradient is 4,23% with an 11% of maximum gradient.
