Travel guide to the top of Pico Telégrafo
Pico Telégrafo is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 1.977m (6,486ft) above the sea level, located in the province of Granada, autonomous community of Andalusia, in southern Spain.
Nestled in the Sierra Arana mountain range, the unpaved road to the summit is really tough. It’s a hidden gem. The climb is pretty steep. It’s 7,3 km long, with an average gradient is 7,2% and hitting a 14% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps.
The summit hosts a communication station. Open to traffic throughout the year, short to medium term closures in winter are common due to snowfalls. The summit is also known as Alto del Telégrafo and Cerro del Telégrafo and offers stunning views of Sierra Nevada range.
