Is the road to Pico Almadén paved?

The road to the summit is called Carretera del Repetidor. Starting from Mancha Real, the road surface is variable throughout the climb. Until Mojón Blanco Pass, the road is paved in very good shape but pretty narrow. Beyond the pass, the road deteriorates considerably. It is unpaved but well maintained. Drivable by 4x4 vehicles and mountain bikes.

How long is the road to Pico Almadén?

Starting from Mancha Real, the ascent is 23,4 km (14.54 miles) long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 1.289 meters. The average gradient is 5.50%, hitting a 15% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps.
