Obarra Canyon: a Spanish balcony road

Located in the province of Huesca, Aragon, in northern Spain, Congosto de Obarra is a narrow canyon formed by the Isabena River. It’s one of the most scenic canyon roads of Spain.

A narrow paved winding road runs through large vertical walls that guide the Isábena river. It’s called A-1605. The canyon features many small pools with waterfalls of different sizes, configuring a landscape of great scenic beauty.

The road is 12.5 km long running from Las Herrerías de Calvera to Bonansa towns. The most scenic section of the drive is called Tuneles de Obarra, a collection of 7 narrow unlit tunnels. Risk of rock slides.
