Don’t glance down at your phone on Canelles Reservoir Access Road

Canelles Reservoir Access Road is a scary road located along the border of the province of Huesca, Aragon and the province of Lleida, Catalonia, in northern Spain. The drive will confirm if you are definitely scared of heights.

Canelles Reservoir Access Road

The road is known as Camí de Blancafort. It’s mostly unpaved (1.8km asphalt and the rest is gravel), running entirely above the Canelles Reservoir and Dam (one of the highest in Europe). If you're afraid of heights, it's probably best to keep your eyes forward. The road follows a couple of long unlit tunnels (400m and 190m), totally impassable for 2 cars the same time.

Located within the Pre-Pyrenees area, the reservoir was constructed in record time between 1953 and 1959. Along the way you’ll have to deal with dangerous drops. Extreme care with rock slides. The route is dangerous. Not recommended to newbies.
