Estany Closell
Estany Closell is a high mountain lake at an elevation of 2.086m (6,843ft) above the sea level, located in the province of Lleida, Catalonia, in north-eastern Spain, near the French border. The average gradient is 7.16%.
Located within the Alt Pirineu Natural Park, in the Pyrenees mountain range, the road to the glacial lake is unpaved. Recommended from late spring to early fall, since you´ll go through mountain roads where there is often snow. 4x4 vehicles only. Along the way you can enjoy a high mountain environment typical of the Pyrenees area.
Starting from Tavascan, a small village, the road is 13.4 km long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 960 meters. The average gradient is 7.16%.
