Road Fv888
Fv888 is a very scenic journey located in Finnmark county, in northern Norway. The views are astonishing.
Nicknamed as Middnattsolveien, the road is well maintained and paved throughout. It’s a coastal road running along fjords. Is a very quiet road. Remember the summers are short, cold, and mostly cloudy and the winters are long, freezing, snowy, extremely windy, and overcast.
Nice views of the sea and occasionally also sea eagles fly by. Watch out for sheep. The road is 101 km long and runs south-north from Ifjord, a village in the municipality of Lebesby and Mehamn, the northernmost port of Hurtigruten located on Vedvik peninsula, at the southern end of the Mehamnfjorden, a bay off of the Barents Sea. The ride is rather remote, so you need to be prepared. In case of a breakdown, there is very little in the way of passing traffic or inhabitants around, and no cell phone service in parts.
