The Storehaug Tunnel Old Road is said to be one of the scariest roads in Vestland County
Located in Vestland County, in Norway, the old RV13 road is a terribly scary mountain road. The surface is in terrible condition.

How long is the Storehaug Tunnel Old Road?
Tucked away in the western part of the country, near Vik, the road is 1.93 km (1.19 miles) long, starting and ending at the paved Rv13. This part of the road tops out at 980 m (3,215 ft) above sea level.
Is the Storehaug Tunnel Old Road paved?
The road was fully paved a few years ago, but weather deteriorated its condition, changing it to unpaved, and turning the drive into a nightmare—very muddy and slippery after rain, making it challenging to get through, with dangerous drop-offs.
Is the Storehaug Tunnel Old Road yet in use?
This challenging part of the road was bypassed in 1981 by the Storehaugtunnelen, a 1.044 m long tunnel. It was built to improve safety and reliability by avoiding the steep, muddy, and landslide-prone old mountain road.
