Parafulmine Refuge

Rifugio Parafulmine is a high mountain hut at an elevation of 1.543m (5,062ft) above the sea level, located in the Province of Bergamo in the Italian region of Lombardy.

Located in the Orobic Prealps, the road to the hut is mostly paved (7 km) with some concrete parts. The rest of the climb (circa 4km long) is unpaved and rocky, with some steep sections and pretty narrow.

It’s usually impassable in winters. Starting from the village of Gandino, the road to the hut is 11.2km long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 1.002 meters and the average gradient is 8.94%.
