Is the road to Scarfiotti Refuge unpaved?
The journey to the refuge is a classic alpine ascent. While it starts on paved roads from the town of Bardonecchia, it quickly transitions into a high-mountain track:

- Vehicle Requirements: A high-clearance vehicle is recommended. While 4WD isn't strictly necessary in dry conditions for the stretch to the refuge, it is highly advised for the much tougher section that continues beyond it.
