Venini Refuge

Located in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, Rifugio Venini is a high mountain refuge at an elevation of 1.576m (5,170ft) above the sea level.

The road to the hut is mostly paved, with some unpaved parts near the hut. It can be impassable in winters. The road to the summit is an old military road built in 1926. The hut can be reached by car from either from Argegno or Porlezza via Pigra.

Near the hut there’s an Astronomical Observatory called Osservatorio Astronomico monte Calbiga. The refuge is situated in a saddle between Monte Galbiga and Monte di Tremezzo. From the hut and the surroundings you enjoy an extraordinary panoramic view.
