Baite di Mezzeno is a high mountain hut at an elevation of 1.609m (5,278ft) above the sea level, located in the Province of Bergamo in the Italian region of Lombardy.
The road to the top is very steep and narrow, with 11 hairpìn turns. It’s called Via Capovalle. The last 900m of the road are gravel. The road is closed in winters. At the summit there’s a big parking lot. It’s the starting point for many excursions.
Starting from Capovalle, at 1.132m above the sea level, the road is 4.9km long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 477 meters. The average percentage is 9,73%.
