Colle Bourget

The rough and bumpy road to Colle Bourget

Colle Bourget is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.299m (7,542ft) above the sea level, located in the Province of Turin, Italy. The peak offers a magnificent view of both sides of the ridge.

The pass is traversed by the Assietta Road (officially called S. P. 173), a military carriageway along the ridge that gathers Pian dell’Alpe to Sestriere. The road has a speed limit of 30 km/h and is forbidden to overtake or stopping outside the parking areas.
This unpaved road just opens from June 1st to October 31st. It’s rideable despite of the many rocks and deteriorated surface especially in curves. This is one of many passes on the spectacular Assietta ridge road from Susa to Sestriere in the western Italian Alps.
