Passo del Picco

Driving the road to Picco Pass is not a piece of cake

Passo di Picco is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.870m (6,135ft) above the sea level, located in the province of Brescia, Lombardy, northern Italy.

Set high in the central Alps, the road to the pass is not easy. It’s very irregular, asphalted and very steep with some stretches around 20%. Speed limit to 20 km/h. Trucks and semi trucks are forbidden. It’s closed in winters.

The road was an old military track and features very nice views. Exercise extreme caution when passing on-coming traffic, over-taking and around corners. This stretch of road should not be attempted by novice drivers. Starting at Doverio, the road to the summit is 8.8 km (5.46 miles) long.
