Lake Frostastaðavatn

Situated in the Highlands of Iceland, the infamous gravel road to the lake is bumped. It’s called Fjallabaksleið nyrðri (F208). It is subject to winter snowfalls and it can be closed anytime when the access is not cleared of snow. Make sure you get your vehicle and yourself well-prepared before driving this road. The lake is mostly surrounded with lava fields and breathtakingly colourful mountains.
