Driving the wild Road 59 (Laxárdalsvegur)

Road 59 (Laxárdalsvegur) is a very scenic mountainous journey located in the heart of north-west Iceland.

The road is gravel, very steep and impassable in winters. It’s pretty narrow. It’s 35.8 km long and links the villages of Búðardalur and Borðeyri. It climbs up to 201m (659ft) above the sea level.
