Mount Ossa is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 1,819m (5,967ft) above sea level, located in the Larissa regional unit of Greece. It’s one of the highest roads in the country.

The peak, also known as Kissavos Peak, is located on the east side of Thessaly, in the eastern part of the country.

The summit is crowned with an abandoned weather station and communications facilities. There’s also a small hidden chapel on top.

How long is the road to Mount Ossa?

The road to the summit is totally unpaved and a 4x4 vehicle is required. It’s steep, narrow, and full of turns. Starting from Kokkino Nero, the road is 42.6 km (26.47 miles) long.
