The beautiful coastal drive from Vathy to Karlovasi
Located on the island of Samos, North Aegean, in Greece, the road from Samos (Vathy) to Karlovasi is one of the most beautiful coastal drives in the world, between the island's two major towns.
The road is totally paved but features many narrow sections. It’s called Road 62. The drive is 30.5km (18.95 miles) long, running east-west from Samos (also known as Vathy) to Karlovasi. The drive is definitely worth it. A drive not to be missed! The road runs along the Aegean coast and it is directly affected by sea waves of the northern sector and requires coastal protection. In general, the road presents a lot of problems in many locations, considering its geometrical properties and its alignment.
