Located in the island of Samos, North Aegean, Greece, the Vathy-Karlovasi road is one of the most beautiful coastal drives in the world, between the island's two major towns.
The road is 30.5 km long. It’s called Road 62. It’s asphalted but includes several narrow sections. It links the port towns of Vathy and Karlovasi. The drive is definitely worth it. A drive not to be missed! There are many excellent photo opportunities. Don't forget your camera with lots of film/memory, fully charged batteries and an empty memory card! The road is located along the coastline, it is directly affected by sea waves of the northern sector and requires coastal protection. In general, the road presents a lot of problems in many locations, considering its geometrical properties and its alignment.
