The unpaved road to the beautiful Kolokytha beach
Located on the northern coast of the island of Crete, Greece, Kolokytha is said to be one of the loveliest beaches of the country with white sand and turquoise waters.
Located in the island of Spinalonga, in the Gulf of Elounda in north-eastern Crete, in Lasithi, next to the town of Elounda, the narrow coastal road to the beach is pretty challenging. It’s a dirt road totally unpaved.
Starting from Elounda, the road to the beach with white sand and crystal clear calm waters is 2.8 km (1.73 miles) long. The remote beach can be very crowded. Remember to go early. There’s a small parking lot on the Church of St. Luke.
