Ostlerhütte is an alpine hut at an elevation of 1.797m (5,895ft) above the sea level, located in the district of Ostallgäu in Bavaria in Germany, near the border with Austria.
It’s one of the highest roads of the country. The road is gravel and pretty steep. Weather conditions can change quickly and be harsh. It is subject to winter snowfalls with such a high summit altitude, and it can be closed anytime when the access is not cleared of snow. The journey offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Pfrontener valley, the Allgäu, the Tyrolean and Swiss mountains.
