Refuge des Camporells
Refuge des Camporells is a high mountain refuge at an elevation of 2.252m (7,388ft) above the sea level, located in the Pyrénées-Orientales department in southern France, near the Spanish border.
Located in the Pyrenees mountain range, the road to the summit is unpaved. 4x4 vehicle required. It’s recommended from late spring to early fall, since you´ll go through mountain roads where there is often snow. Situated on the banks of l'Estagny del Mig lake, along the road the view is superb over Matemale, the Galbe Valley and finally the lakes.
Starting from Station de ski de Formiguères, the road is 7.1km long. It’s a high mountain road climbing up to 2.411m (7,910ft) above the sea level, on the Serra de Dellà ridge. Along the way you can enjoy a high mountain environment typical of the Pyrenees area.
