How to Drive the D662, a Balcony Road Along the Lot River

The road is fully paved and comprises narrow parts and tunnels, running along the Lot River. It is recommended for small vehicles (4.1 meters height limit). It’s a pleasant ride above the Lot River with manageable elevation gain.

How Long Is the D662 Road?

The most scenic part of the drive is about 30km (18 miles) long, running west-east from Saint-Géry to Cajarc. The road never has too much traffic. Travelers should note that the Lot River is fast flowing in this area. Given the road’s close proximity to the water's edge, it is absolutely essential to drive carefully and maintain full attention on the curves ahead.
