Road D954

D954 is a very scenic drive in the heart of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in southeastern France. This road overlooks the blue Lac de Serre-Ponçon lake from above, and has some beautiful views.

The road is asphalted, with some narrow parts and a narrow unlit tunnel near the end. It’s recommended for small cars (4m height limit). It's a great little road with lots of corners and amazing views. The road is 22.9 km long running along the eastern side of the Lac de Serre-Ponçon. It links the villages of Savines-le-Lac and Le Lauzet-Ubaye.

The drive offers beautiful scenery as the road twists and turns alongside the bright blue lake in the middle of the mountains. Lac de Serre-Ponçon, fed by the Durance and Ubaye rivers, is stunningly beautiful with an amazing azure colour. It’s said to be the second largest artificial lake in Europe.
