Pont de Normandie

Crossing the beautiful Pont de Normandie

Pont de Normandie is a very beautiful and modern cable-stayed road bridge located in northern France. It’s one of the most spectacular bridges in the world.

The bridge carries the asphalted A29 autoroute spanning the river Seine. It links the industrial city of Le Havre and the tourist city of Honfleur in Normandy. The bridge has a total length of 2,143.21 metres (7,032 ft) and a span of 856 metres, crossing the River Seine at a height of over 50 metres.

The bridge opened on 20 January 1995. It appears to climb very steeply towards the sky as you get closer to it. This piece of architecture is amazingly high. It’s very exposed to the wind (capable of reaching speeds of 180 kph). If you don't like heights then avoid at all cost. At the top you feel as though you are flying.
