The lake is located north of Lac de Coume Escure, in the Occitanie region, in the south-western part of the country, in the valley of the Bastan. Near the lake there is a mountain hut, known as Refuge de la Glère and built in 1953.

The road to the lake is totally unpaved, pretty curvy, with steep parts and narrow sections. It’s called Piste de la Glère. A 4x4 vehicle is required.
