Is the road to Col de l’Eychauda unpaved?

The road to the summit is totally unpaved. It’s a chairlift access trail. The single track can be quite intimidating if you do not have much of a head for heights with steep drops below. A 4x4 vehicle is required. It’s closed to private vehicles.

How long is the road to Col de l’Eychauda?

Starting from Le Monêtier-les-Bains, the road to the summit is 6.2km long.

Is the road to Col de l’Eychauda open year-round?

Set high in the Massif des Cercesrange, the road is totally impassable in winters.
