Here's How To Have The Ultimate Road Trip To Refuge de Moëde Anterne
Refuge de Moëde Anterne is a high mountain refuge at an elevation of 1.984m (6,509ft) above the sea level, located on the Fiz mountains, in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France.
The road to the summit, located within the Réserve Naturelle de Passy, is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy at times. The road is impassable in winters. Great trail for experienced wheelers. Avoid driving in this area if unpaved mountain roads aren't your strong point. Stay away if you're scared of heights. Expect a trail pretty steep. Wet conditions may make for tough driving along the muddy road. The cantine de Moëde (as it was called then) was used as a hideout by WW2 resistance fighters who were getting supplies from Passy, Servoz or even Chamonix.
