The wild road to Col de la Fréte o de la Chiaupe
Col de la Fréte o de la Chiaupe is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.494m (8,182ft) above the sea level, located in the Graian Alps, in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France.
Set high in the northern part of the Vanoise National Park, in the Vanoise Massif range, the road to the summit is totally unpaved and impassable from October to June. 4x4 vehicle required. It's a chairlift access trail very steep. Wet conditions may make for tough driving along the muddy road.
