Col de la Bâthie

The unpaved road to Col de la Bâthie

Col de la Bâthie is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.884m (6,181ft) above the sea level, located in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France.

The road to the summit, located within the Beaufortain Massif, is totally unpaved. It’s very steep and narrow. At the summit there’s a mountain hut called Refuge Les Arolles, built in 1987. The road tops out at 2.024m above the sea level. The road is usually impassable in winters.
