Glacier du Varet is a high mountain glacier at an elevation of 2.883m (9,458ft) above the sea level, located in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. It’s one of the highest roads of Europe.

The road to the summit, located within the Réserve Naturelle des Hauts de Villaroger, is gravel, bumpy and rocky. 4x4 required. This steep road can be closed anytime due to snow and ice. It’s usually impassable from September to May. It's one of the highest roads of the country. It’s the peak of its ski area. Avalanches make the road impassable often.
