Col du Val d'Ese
Col du Val d'Ese is a mountain pass at an elevation of 1.615m (5,298ft) above the sea level, located between the valleys of Prunelli and Taravo, in the Corse-du-Sud department of France on the island of Corsica.
The road to the summit is called D27A. It’s asphalted, pretty steep (with sections up to 13.3%) and pretty narrow. At the summit there’s a ski station, called Ski resort Val d'Ese.
There are several routes to reach the summit. Starting from Bastelica, the ascent is 15.5 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 859 meters. The average percentage is 5.7 %. Starting from Pont de Zipitoli, the ascent is 20 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 976 meters. The average percentage is 4.9 %. And starting from Bastelica, the ascent is 15 km long.
