Col de l’Hysope: a fabulous narrow road to the top

Col de l’Hysope is a mountain pass at an elevation of 1.236m (4,055ft) above the sea level, located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of south-eastern France.

The road to the summit is paved but very narrow and steep. Not recommended to newbies. It’s called D3. The maximum gradient is 14.8%. At the summit there’s a fabulous natural viewpoint and a tiny parking lot.

The pass is 26.9 km long, running north-south from Authon towards Champtercier. It’s a difficult road, with uncountable turns and twists. Not recommended if you don't know how to reverse.
