Col de la Savolière, a curvy paved mountain road to the summit

Col de la Savolière is a mountain pass at an elevation of 1.421m (4,662ft) above the sea level, located in the Haute-Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France.

The road to the summit is paved. It’s called D308. The pass is 20.8 km long, running from D328 road towards Mieussy (D907 Road). Open to traffic throughout the year, may be closed for short periods in winter when the weather is bad.

The road is pretty steep, hitting a 10.6% through some of the curves. Starting from Taninges, the ascent is 12.2 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 775 meters. The average percentage is 6.4 %.
