A scenic road to Col de Saint-Barnabé in the French Alps
Col de Saint-Barnabé is a mountain pass at an elevation of 1.368m (4,488ft) above the sea level located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department, in the region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur in southeastern France.
Located within Verdon Regional Nature Park, the road to the summit is totally paved. It’s called D102 Road. It’s totally paved with narrow parts. The pass road is 8.2 km (5.09 miles) long, running west-east from Demandolx to Soleilhas.
Tucked into the Verdon river valley and completely surrounded by mountains and forests, the road is pretty steep, with a maximum slope of 11.0%. The area has a reputation for spawning impressive electrical storms during the summer.
